Robins decided to build their nest in the climbing roses on the front porch, and to be honest, at first I thought they were pretty dumb. Between the dogs, mailman, neighbors, friends etc coming in and out all the time, it didn't seem a terribly peaceful place to have some chicks.
But then I realized those dang birds are geniuses. Not only are they in a spot that is protected from wind and rain, but everything else too since the front porch is now CLOSED for the duration and anyone who wants in the house will have to come around back.
