in Italy people keep their Christmas trees up through Epiphany on January 6th, so we are going to as well.
besides, this lovely salt dough ornament from Chiara arrived while we were in Colorado and I don't want to wait until next year to put it up!

Traditionally children in Italy would receive their gifts on Epiphany, also known as the day of the "Befana". Legend says an old lady would come by your house and fill you socks with gifts if you were good. If you were not good you would get "carbone" coal.
