Remember when I whined about our Lenten Roses showing no signs of blooming anytime during Lent? I have never been so happy to be wrong! They all look a little beaten down by winter, but one of them is blooming!
And something else sprouting too, even though I am not sure what it is. (I think the squirrels that like to torment Gus and Ollie might have stolen some of the neighbor's bulbs and given them to us.)

I was thinking of the ice storm we had a couple years ago, in January when we had an early bloom of flowers. Although we've had a tough winter at least it wasn't as wacked as that year. Then again I should not be writing in the past tense yet!
