world travels

If you're like me you've wanted to visit the ruins of the city of Pompeii ever since you saw it in the pages of your parents National Geographic when you were a kid, but haven't managed to get there, yet. (key word: yet.)

Well, now you can explore the city from the comfort of your own living room because Google maps has added the Ruins of Pompeii to it's street views.

There are 382 images of the city and you can travel through them just like you're there. Kind of.

Top image here, other images from google maps.

Shannon and I were lucky enough to get to visit Pompeii and Herculaneum as part of a field trip when we were studying in Italy (where we met). This is a really fun way to revisit those streets.
