in and out

We got our fava beans, peas, romaine, spinach, mache, arugula, carrots, parsnips, beets, onions and kohlrabi planted! And now even though I am so exhausted I can barely stand up, we're headed down to Detroit for a bunch of openings.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Now, after a week hiatus, here are some links:

ever think of what will happen to all your stuff 50-60 years from now? All those little things that aren't really "valuable" but mean so much to you?

some art I love, some not so much, but then there's this whole other category of stuff that I wish I'd made before someone else did. Like this.

These looked so good, I decided to grow beets! And I don't even really like beets!

If in the next couple weeks I tell you I'm going to get my hair cut like this, please remind me that not every adorable hair cut looks good on every person and that last time I tried something like it I looked like a mushroom.

The White House's garden is 400 square feet bigger this year, and so is mine.

next party we have, I'm making a pinata.

I love Lima beans!

what lies beneath?

how do they water it?

funny.

happy day, earth.

my favorite thing about this, is that there is such a thing as a "world-renowned Lego artist".

genius.

I wish an American newspaper would do this too because there should not be such a thing as an "Organic Big Gulp". (Now I want a slurpee.)

Oh man, I guess I really never gave parsnips a chance in the past; but cooked a great roast of them and other root vegetables this past week. And now I'm rethinking my garden, it MUST include parsnips!tes

I love parsnips! They take a longtime to gow, but are so worth it!.

I'm already thinking what you'll be able to make with all these veggies, and I just wish I had a garden too. Well, I'll be trying to grow some small stuff in the house, and te rest, that's what the farmers' market is for.

First of all, parsnips are awesome. Second, I read the Objects of Accumulation article, and, couple that with just having watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and I'm thinking way too much about the meaning of life and mortality. Oh, maybe parsnips are the meaning of life? No? Love then, I suppose.
