rainbow in a cloud

Jackson wanted a rainbow themed party for his 4th birthday, so, inspired by these beautiful cakes, Chiara and I made him a rainbow cake!

The pans we used were all different sizes and once it was all together (with considerable structural support) it looked, um, well, lumpy.  So, I decided to make it look like a cloud on the outside, keeping with the rainbow theme.

It was a little janky, but it's the imperfections that make it fun.  The best part was when Chiara cut the cake revealing the rainbow inside!

and when Jackson ate it.

Happy Birthday little guy!
