Today is the 50th anniversary of when Berry Gordy borrowed $800 from family and friends and started Motown Records, forever changing pop music and Detroit.
I was going to put up a video of a great Motown song, but couldn't pick just one. The Detroit Free Press put up 50 videos, not just of songs but about the history and influence of the label. check them out here.
