warning

Because of last night's frost warning, we picked most of the butternut squash.  Some of it is quite large, almost doggie size.

The squash is 8 pounds and Ollie just 17, which seems to make him nervous.

But it's the piles of other things that are giving me a(nother) panic attack.

Want my recipe for butternut squash soup? I wish I were there so I could help you cook. One day, I'm getting one a plane and flying to Ann Arbor just to see you (okay, we'd probably do some cooking or baking too, obviously). This picture of Ollie and the squash is too adorable. What's crazy is that combined they weigh about as much as my fat cat.

That's a lot of gorgeous produce! About those green tomatoes...fear not! Here is the best Baked Green Tomatoes recipe this side of the Mississippi: http://irreverentvegan.com/2009/10/pesto-pasta-and-baked-green-tomatoes/
AND you should probably have us over to dinner to help you eat some of that stuff *wink*!

An eight pound butternut is just huge. My one and only butternut this year was only 4lbs. I'm happy for it though. I wasn't sure I could out fox the groundhogs for it.

I could see why he would be nervous - that's gigantic!
